Everything that moves you across water or ground on Shanty BB™: jet skis and other personal watercraft; motorized boats (fishing, pontoon, bowrider, ski, jon boat); paddlecraft (kayak, canoe, SUP, rowboat, raft); and off-road rideables (ATV, UTV / side-by-side, snowmobile, dirt bike).
Do I need a boater's license or a trail permit?
Depends on your state, the vehicle type, and where you're operating it. Motorized boats usually require boater education for renters born after a certain year; some state trail systems require a snowmobile or ORV registration. The host lists their state's rule on the listing.
Is fuel included?
Depends on the listing. Some hosts include a tank of fuel, others require the renter to top off before returning. Called out on every listing.
What if the weather turns bad?
Hosts set weather-related cancellation rules within the platform's approved cancellation-policy framework. Review the listing before booking. Water hosts typically refund fully on small-craft advisories; trail hosts on active-flood or trail-closure orders.
Can I trailer the boat or ORV to a different launch or trailhead?
Some listings allow it, most don't — the host's insurance often only covers the vehicle at their launch or trailhead. Message the host before booking if you plan to trailer.
